Have Ya Heard (HYH) Online was founded November 2004 and officially launched in 2005.   Yvonne Pierre, proud mom of two, created HYH when her youngest son Zyon was about the transition into public school at the age of 3.  Zyon was diagnosed with Down syndrome (Ds) and at the time, she had no idea what Ds was and didn’t personally know of anyone with Ds.  She received a lot of negative information about Ds, which could have discouraged her, yet it motivated her to seek positive stories.  After researching online she learned that there were so many stories of hope and she felt these stories needed to be told.  HYH was created to share these stories of hope with parents of children with special needs  as well as provide an outlet that would promote the many accomplishments of individuals with special needs no matter how big or small.  With this in mind, she launched one of the first social networks for special needs parent in 2005, an eMagazine, awareness apparel, and online bookstore.  Yvonne believes that it is that hope that the parent has for their child that will enable them to push their child to their limit and not the limitations of others.
